Classes
Private sessions are styled according to your needs. We work within your
range of movement, allowing you to progress at your own pace. Private
sessions eliminate common distractions found in crowded gyms and yoga
studios, thus enabling you to truly focus on your own breath, body and
spirit. With private instruction you have the opportunity to ask questions and address any issues that arise during a class. I will give you guidelines and modifications to help protect your body from
injury and suggest poses to practice on your own as well as design a
thorough series of poses that we practice together. My focus is on
precise alignment, linking breath with movement, and balancing active
and passive poses.
A typical 75 to 90 minute session may include breath work; a slow warmup; sun salutations; standing poses for balance, strength, flexibility, and core work; floor work for hips, shoulders, glutes, and hamstrings; cool down; and final relaxation. I will incorporate inspirational readings and, upon request, provide a printout of suggested sequencing for at-home practice on your own. If you need help setting up an area of your home for yoga practice I am delighted to assist you.
Now also offering Restorative Yoga! A 75-minute sequence of relaxing, restorative poses designed to bring true release for the stressed and busy-minded individual. I provide all props!
The only requirements
necessary to practice private yoga with me are a mat with two feet of space on each side, 75 uninterrupted minutes, comfortable clothing, and a willingness to open
your heart to a new experience.
It is advised that
prior to practicing any type of yoga that participants do not eat
(other than a small light snack) one to two hours before class.
